Introduction- Do athletes that use sports psychology or a sports psychologist perform better than those who don’t use them?

Sports psychology helps athletes focus on the task at hand and not the final outcome. It helps determine where in the mind that the athlete could chock at. And it’s getting inside their head and making them confident so they don’t and that’s their job. The two main things that athletes struggle wit are, what they're focusing on, and how they're feeling.  "Negative thoughts, irrelevant thoughts, outcome-related thoughts, tend to produce higher levels of tension and poor performance," Wrisberg said. "What we try to do is to break down performance into the things that they have control of and be sure that that's what they're doing every single time they attempt their sport."
So when an athlete is at the free throw line, they teach them mentally to breath and focus on the target. And trust their practice, and don’t think that this point will affect the outcome of the game. "It's taking care of the stuff you have control of that is going to give you the chance to be successful, and I think they learn that principle when they get together with a performance consultant."

Review of literature-

All of the sites above are about sports psychology, and have information that I will be using in my paper. All have information that will be very useful to my paper. I though I knew a lot about sports psychology but, after reading threw the sites I am learning so much more. There is so much information to be found about this topic.

Plan to collect information
I have been getting a great deal of my information threw web sites about sports psychology, such as cites that explain what the basic definition  is and also threw ProQuest. I plan on getting a lot more of my information threw books that I will check out for the library. Also other sports articles and interviews about other athletes.

Project time line
My time line, I have never really made a time line before but from where I am right now, I need to finish up the last 2 in class work sheets. From there I need to start putting all my information in to a pile and start branching off in to things I need to do. I’m just a little behind at the moment but I plan on visiting the library and checking out some books that involve my topic and start reading and understanding it more. I need to get as much information about my topic as possible before I start my paper. I still need to get some more sources so my research for this project is still at the beginning. I plan on being all caught up by Tuesdays class. So over the weekend I will log some hours.

Chapter 9 is talking about using the library to your advantage. That there is a wealth of information relevant to your topic. Once you know your topic and are looking for books about the topic there is going to be a whole section or related subjects and information. When at the library use the periodicals room to help locate your sources there will be magazine, newspapers, scholarly and professional journals and you can brows threw all of them. Look in to the library reference room to help your self find sources and a range of information about your topic. There are a lot of different types of bibliographies such as trade, general and specialized. "How do you use a bibliography?1- you first locate your subject through the index or page headings 2- if it provided, read background information about the subject. 3- review the bibliography to identify sources that are judged by the author of the subject.4- entries in specialized bibliographies are often written by leading scholars.

Chapter 3, developing a research question is often hard and you might not get the question right away but, brain storming helps to really find the best way to phrase the research question. Really try to get as much information about your topic as possible . Understand it forward and backward and once you get a total understanding, you might start to change things in your paper. Make a list of research questions such as " information, history, assumptions, goals, outcomes, policies." when writing really look in to three words and they are " what, would, and should"  fill in the blank with your topic. Once you have gotten as much information as you can, start narrowing your research question question and fine tuning it. Really identify your topic, issue and question then from that point on you are ready to start setting up your paper. Keep your key ideas and information that make the strongest points ready and make it count so you don't keep overlapping the same information. I have never done this before but, explain how you collected all your information by listing journals articles and newspapers and any other ways you collected your information. Use all the tools and information as you can, to improve and get the most out of your paper.
I really need to set a timeline for my paper so I need to look more in to this.

Chapter 7 shows and tells  lots of information about plagiarism and plagiarism is intellectual dishonesty. There are Manny different ways of explaining plagiarism but, the main thing is using someones work and calming it to be your won and not giving them credit for the work they have done. By people helping you with your topic that is not plagiarism, its only if you take the work from another person. The 6 things you should check for are, " check for works cited page, identify each quotation paraphrase and summary, check for appropriate attributions, check for appropriate text, make sure each source has a works cited page, and really look in to the text and see if there are ant changes in the paper". Always acknowledge the source of your information to prevent any  plagiarism. common knowledge is information that is widely known around the world so you dont need to cite everything you write. Always ask if you can use the information of an author if you are using a big chunk of their information. Make sure you take notes to avoid plagiarizing really carefully just make sure its you information.
"How do I evaluate a web site"
http://www.teamusa.org/About-the-USOC/Athlete-Development/Sport-Performance/Psychology

The site I picked has .org

 About Sports psychology

The site does not state the publisher but the site is about the Olympic sports team and how the work with the athletes helps them become mentally prepared for their Olympic competition.

The site is completely up to date with the information about the Sochi Olympic games and what it takes to become an Olympian. When a mind set that is so crazy to even understand. You work and train for 4 years of your life for a race or meet that last seconds and comes down to seconds.

The illustrations and evidence in the site shows the reader about the Olympics and what sports physiology really is and the effects it has on the athletes. There are also other sites listed in the web page that can take you to other information all you have to do is click the mouse.

At the bottom of the page it says "  © 2014 United States Olympic Committee. All rights reserved."
Chapter 5 enplanes about evaluating sources and which sources to use, that will get you the best information. Any information your putting in to your paper should be useful to the reader. Make sure you get all the evidence that you need, don't leave anything out, try to get more information then needed. Really look in to the author  see if they are an expert in their field, or they could be someone that is just trying to put there own option out there with out any knowledge of the topic. After taking a loot at the author next look who published the newspaper, journal or web site. Take a look when the site was published, maybe the information your looking up is from 20 years ago and by now times have changed. That is very important to look at dates and the time line between all your information on your topic. All of the sources that you find you should evaluate the same way and make sure your information is all true. With finding your information you need to be proactive with your topic.

Chapter 8 really goes in to dept about how to prepare for your search, really identify the search related items and keep track of all your information and sites where you get your information. Plan all of your searches out carefully. Try to limit your searches by narrowing down your topic to one cretin search. While searching for your topic in the online library keep in mind that there are books and journals, newspapers, magazines. There are also videotapes, audiotapes  CD's, DVD's and other items such as maps. I feel whenever I need information about my topic I feel like I can find it one way or another. I have gotten a better understand of collecting all my information and putting it in to my bibliographies. I like how it shows us he correct format to use and how it shows us step by step. I didn't know  about the government sites and all the information that you can gather from all the sites.
